Job Description - Administrative Officer, Department of Digital Arts and Creative Industries

The Department of Digital Arts and Creative Industries (DACI) is an interdisciplinary and innovative learning hub that encompasses a wide range of areas, including film and television, animation, museums and curating, art history, as well as digital arts and immersive media. We offer broad theoretical study and practical training for students seeking careers in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area's burgeoning creative and cultural industries.

 

The Department currently offers two taught postgraduate programmes. The Master of Arts in Creative and Media Industries (MACMI) offers basic and advanced courses on creative and media industries, i.e. interconnected fields of film, television, music, performing arts, visual arts and interactive media as well as archive, museum and amusement services—which collectively constitute the most dynamic sector of cultural economy in Hong Kong. And the Master of Arts in Curating and Art History (MACAH) offers basic and advanced courses on art histories, curating, and museum studies — which collectively constitute the dynamic sector of cultural economy in Hong Kong.

 

DACI invites applications for the position of Administrative Officer. The appointee will assist the MA Programme Directors and DACI Department Head in general administration (e.g. classroom coordination, budget planning, admissions, publicity, etc.). Those who are familiar with marketing, student recruitment and the Hong Kong and Mainland creative industries are especially welcome.

 

Requirements

 

Applicants should have (i) a Bachelor’s degree in Creative Industries, including Curation, Art History, Art Administration or relevant disciplines; (ii) at least 2 years of experience in academic administration, student recruitment and programme coordination; (iii) fluency in written and spoken English and Chinese (Putonghua and Cantonese); (iv) good command of MS Office, Photoshop, social media and webpage applications; (v) excellent communication and interpersonal skills; and (vi) ability to effectively manage multiple priorities, with competing deadlines.

 

Salary and Benefits

Commencing salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits, where applicable, include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, mandatory provident fund and gratuity.
