Job Description - Assistant Manager, Commercial Management

=Objectives of the Position=
- To Drive sustainable profitable growth in engineering plastic portfolio to meet the financial goals in alignment with Global-Regional PMP Strategic Business Unit (SBU) strategy
- To develop and implement PMP SBU road map for Engineering Plastics Product groups so that a robust mid to long term growth is achieved.
- Supports Marketing for business growth expansion in alignment with regional strategy and applies local Code of Conduct principles.
- Constantly Develops & Implements Best Business Practices. =Main Areas of Responsibilities and Key Activities=
[Product Portfolio Management]
- Actively Manages the product portfolio of assigned product groups or SBUs including product positioning so as to achieve strategic targets.
- Ensures volume and CM1 profitability targets are achieved for assigned product groups or SBUs.
- Consolidates sales forecast or demand forecast for responsible assigned SBUs and reviews monthly demand planning and forecast together with Sales and SCM/Planning and make necessary recommendations.
- Continuously strives to optimize the product portfolio in consultation with respective Sales, Application Development teams
- Assists the Head in the preparation of operation planning/ Target Agreement and respective SBU budgeting in co-operation with the sales teams. [Pricing Management]
- Develops and implements A-PMA/E Greater China PMP pricing strategies.
- Develops price lists, and limit and Target prices based on S1, S2 and S3
- Drives implementation of business rules and marketing initiatives, coaches sales and tech service reps (i.e. lot size surcharges).
- Approves pricing below limit price
- Monitors A-PMA/E Greater China PMP price performance [Innovations]
- Works with Sales and Technical Development to identify and evaluates new market segment growth opportunities and provides recommendations for business models and approaches to business development activities and channel strategies within assigned SBU product groups.
- Supports plan for New Product development and coordinates with the R&D Product and Application Development teams. Encourages High Vitality Index product sales thru win-win commercial solutions
- Supports Marketing Communications to generate product marketing packages to sales and application development teams. [Market Intelligence]
- To understand from leading customer to gain knowledge on key market trends, information about end user Industry and customer interests
- Conducts market and competitive analysis and builds up market intelligence database for specific product groups or SBUs.
- Manages the collection of the market information relevant to the product(s) so as to support investment decisions.
- Develops market competitor database for assigned product groups or SBUs. [Strategic Tasks Planning and Implementation]
- Updates strategy database for assigned product groups or SBUs.
- Works with Sales, Application Development and Product managers to review and update respective market segment and SBUs strategy.
- Supports the Head for special projects. [Business Monitoring and Reporting]
- Assists the other Commercial Managers in Monthly reporting and monitoring of KPIs would include: 3rd party sales report (volumes, Net sales, Average selling price, currency) and establishes projects Database for acquisition and commercialized projects.
- Analyzes KPIs data on a monthly basis and provides them to sales and Application development teams.
- Establishes trend indicators based on macro industry/market indicators to prepare a forward looking business =Job Requirements=
- Bachelor's Degree in in Engineering/Science/Business Administration or equivalent.
- 5 to 8 years of working experience preferably in the Engineering Plastics and/or Polyurethane industries
- Good knowledge and experience of engineering plastics would be highly advantageous.
- Tooling, Plastics Compounding and Application Development experience would be highly desirable.
- Good proficiency in Microsoft office applications such as Excel (pivot table, vlookup functions), Power-point presentations.
- Knowledge of SAP , Business Warehouse (BW) systems and Power BI would be highly advantageous..
- Desirable to have highly collaborative, customer focus and value positioning mindset.
- Ability to work in diverse work environment.
- Fluent in English and Local Mandarin.
