Assistant Technical Officer (Ref. 230329019-IE)
Duties
The appointee will be required to:
(a) perform routine maintenance and ensure smooth operation of the clinical skills laboratories and specialty laboratories;
(b) facilitate laboratory-based teaching and learning activities for undergraduate and postgraduate students;
(c) provide technical support in simulation classes;
(d) implement Health and Safety policies of the University;
(e) assist in inventory control, stock taking and purchase;
(f) handle learning materials and equipment loan;
(g) supervise junior staff members of the laboratories; and
(h) perform any other duties as assigned by the Head of School or his/her delegates. The appointee may be required to work outside normal office hours, including Saturdays and Sundays.
Qualifications
Applicants should:
(a) have a recognised degree or a higher diploma in health care discipline or an equivalent qualification with at least three years of relevant experience;
(b) have good knowledge of health and safety practices;
(c) have good knowledge of and skills in information technology and computer applications; and
(d) be recognised as “a person trained in first aid” under the provision of Occupational Safety and Health Regulation (Cap. 509A) and keep the status throughout the duration of service to the University.
Preference will be given to those with a Certificate of Registration (Part I) and a valid practising certificate issued by the Nursing Board/Council of Hong Kong.
Conditions of Service
A highly competitive remuneration package will be offered. Initial appointment will be on a fixed-term gratuity-bearing contract. Re-engagement thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.
