Job Description - Business Develpment Manager

APL Logistics provides innovative, global supply-chain solutions across Automotive, Consumer, Industrial and Retail markets. These solutions include Order Management, Distribution & Fulfillment, Customs Brokerage and Transportation products delivered across six regions. 

At the heart of our offering is a global, cross-functional ability to manage customer orders from origin all the way to final destination via a network of over 5,000 global professionals.

 

This position is responsible for targeting and hunting for new business with new customers by selling APLL’s capabilities and solutions, to achieve assigned top line and bottom-line financial results.

Key Accountabilities

  • Responsible to find the right target customers in APLL’s focused vertical and market 
  • Able to build up relationship with customers and dig out the opportunities fitting into APLL’s capabilities and competencies
  • Able to understand customers supply chain, find the pain points and sell the right solutions and demonstrated value to customers
  • Responsible to lead and coordinate with internal stakeholders, including operation, solutions, tech/IT, finance, etc. to design and work out the proposal to the customers’ requests
  • Maintain good relationship with existing clients, continuously improve the profitability and dig out new business opportunities
  • Ensure timely and accurate reports of target accounts, opportunities and sales calls
  • Follow up A/R and ensure the timely payment from the customers
  • Responsible to follow the customer qualification and on-boarding protocols, including credit setup and contract coordination for customers

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Master of Business Administration in Finance, Economics or related field
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in commercial role with rich knowledge of supply chain logistics and local market practice
  • Possess experience of prospecting and targeting customer in focused products, engaging the Director/VP level customers
  • Possess good communication and presentation skills, analytical skills and understanding of the operational process
  • Good knowledge in both international and domestic logistics
  • Experience to establish network of customer and business relationships
  • Relevant work experience in a supply chain division of an MNC or 3PL
  • Be able to work in complex situation and under pressure
