The Estate Agents Authority (EAA) is a statutory body, established in November 1997 under the Estate Agents Ordinance. Its principal functions are to regulate the practice of estate agency in Hong Kong, promote integrity and competence within the industry, and facilitate training for estate agency practitioners to ensure their standard of conduct and enhance their status. Key Responsibilities
Being head of the EAA Administration, the CEO is mainly responsible for the following duties:
Work with the EAA Board, Board Chairman and Committee Chairpersons to set and execute the EAA’s strategic goals and corporate plans, in alignment with the EAA’s vision and mission and for the discharge of the EAA’s statutory functions.
Develop effective strategies and solutions to meet day-to-day challenges.
Lead and supervise the EAA Administration to fulfil the Board’s directions and execute the strategic plans effectively and efficiently.
Provide visionary leadership to drive change, innovation and growth; and ensure effective communication and harmonious coordination across all functional sections.
Oversee all aspects of the EAA’s day-to-day operations; and ensure the highest standard of corporate governance of the EAA Administration.
Manage and monitor the EAA’s resources prudently and effectively.
Enhance the trade’s and the public’s awareness of the EAA’s work; and solicit their support for the healthy development of the estate agency industry and stronger consumer protection in Hong Kong.
Requirements
The candidate should possess:
a degree from a recognized university or equivalent educational qualifications;
a minimum of 20 years’ solid experience in administrative and managerial positions at a senior level, with extensive experience in steering strategic initiatives;
excellent capability in formulating strategies and providing solutions;
excellent analytical ability to make effective independent judgment;
very strong sensitivity to the broader social, economic and political environment when making a decision;
excellent and proven leadership and people management capabilities;
excellent interpersonal skills; and
excellent presentation skills in both written and spoken English and Chinese, with proficiency in Putonghua.
