Job Description - Contract Doctor - Get Hired Fast

Positions :
(a) Contract Doctor
(b) Contract Doctor (Families Clinic)
(c) Contract Doctor (Antimicrobial Resistance)

Salary: Monthly salary at HK$65,875 - HK$96,055 depending on relevant qualification and experience, plus end-of-contract gratuity.

Entry Requirements: Candidates should –
(a) have a medical qualification registrable in Hong Kong under the Medical Registration Ordinance, Cap. 161;
(b) have a good command of spoken and written Chinese and English; and
(c) be able to speak fluent Cantonese.

Duties : Positions (a) & (b) :
Mainly deployed on clinical and non-clinical duties in the following programme areas: (a) statutory functions; (b) disease prevention and surveillance; (c) health promotion; (d) curative care; (e) rehabilitation; and (f) public and professional education.

Position (c) :
The main duties include:
(a) keeping systematic ongoing surveillance of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) from human aspect including the collection, collation and analysis of data and; the interpretation and dissemination of information; the conduct of Sentinel Surveillance;
(b) managing AMR surveillance data obtained from other data providing stakeholders;
(c) assisting in development of AMR surveillance including suggesting and / or conducting literature reviews and studies; collaboration with other potential data providing stakeholders and maintaining network and connection with international authorities of AMR surveillance;
(d) preparing surveillance reports and scientific papers; and
(e) assisting in dissemination of information, risk communication and responding to enquiries.

(Remarks: Selected candidates may be required to work shifts outside normal working hours and perform on-call duties.)

* Depending on the vacancy situation of each position at the time of the selection interview, the Department will contact eligible candidates for their preference of position to be applied for to facilitate making arrangement for the interview.

Terms of Appointment: Successful candidate will be appointed on non-civil service contract terms for 12 months. Renewal of contract will be subject to the service need of the Department and the performance of the candidate.

Fringe Benefits

(a) For candidates who work on a full-time basis, an end-of-contract gratuity may be granted upon satisfactory completion of the contract with consistently high standard of performance and conduct. The amount of gratuity payable will be the sum which, when added to the Government’s contribution to a Mandatory Provident Fund (MPF) scheme as required by the MPF Schemes Ordinance (Cap. 485), equals to 15% of the total basic salary drawn during the contract period.
(b) Candidates appointed are eligible for 14 days’ paid annual leave. Other benefits such as rest days, statutory holidays (or substituted holidays), maternity/ paternity leave and sickness allowance, where appropriate, will be granted in line with the Employment Ordinance.
