About Our Client

Our client is a major US insurance company with the Hong Kong office as its APAC HQ. They are looking for a Data Operations Analyst with at 1-3 years of experience in either data management/operations or insurance operations (claims, policy admin, etc.) and with knowledge of VBA/Python and SQL. Strong communication skills in English and Cantonese is mandatory.

This is an excellent opportunity to those who are looking for an opportunity where their technical data skills can be trained and elevated for a long term career in the data field. Those with basic knowledge (i.e. learnt VBA/Python/SQL in university or self taught) will be considered as well as training will be provided.

Job Description

• Utilize advanced systems and databases to manage internal data effectively
• Conduct thorough analysis of reported data to assess its quality and compliance
• Perform, ETL, data validation and ensure the accuracy of all data
• Validate transactions, ensuring data integrity and precise financial reporting
• Implement controls to minimize risks and ensure compliance with regulations
• Support the team in maintaining accurate data for various purposes, including experience studies, accounting records, and regulatory returns
• Automate any manual processes to increase efficiency within the team and across the business
• Extract and analyze data to fulfill both regular and ad hoc requests

The Successful Applicant

• University degree in Business Administration, Actuarial Studies, IT, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field
• Have 1-3 years of experience in the financial industry, preferably within insurance
• Proficient in SQL and VBA/Python programming languages
• Knowledge of Power Query, Power Pivot, and Power Automate, would be a plus
• Display accuracy, attention to detail, and excellent organisational skills
• Exhibit a positive attitude when dealing with colleagues and stakeholders, demonstrating cooperation and flexibility
