EDUCATIONAL DEVELOPMENT CENTRE

Project Associate / Project Assistant (Ref. 230323007)
[Appointment period: twelve to eighteen months]

Duties

The appointee will assist the project leaders and team members in projects related to assessment and learning and teaching initiatives at PolyU. He/She will be required to:

(a) assist in managing the logistics and administrative work of the project;

(b) support the setting up and implementation of online surveys and assessment;

(c) assist in conducting focus group interviews to identify good practices in assessment and learning and teaching initiatives;

(d) support in analysing data and drafting reports;

(e) support the development of resources and materials in learning, teaching, and assessment (e.g. infographics, video animations, etc.); and

(f) contribute to all aspects of the project and associated tasks as directed by the project leader or his/her delegates.

Qualifications

For the post of Project Associate , applicants should have a master’s degree or a good honours degree in Education, Psychology, Social Science or other related disciplines with at least three years of relevant work experience.

For the post of Project Assistant , applicants should have an honours degree or an equivalent qualification in Education, Psychology, Social Science or other related disciplines.

Applicants should also have:

(a) an interest in promoting good learning, teaching, and assessment practices in a tertiary education setting;

(b) strong organisational, conceptual, logical thinking and problem-solving skills, a proactive and professional work style, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively with team members;

(c) excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a high level of proficiency in written and spoken English; and

(d) good computer literacy (e.g. MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint) and experience or knowledge of performing data analysis.
