Purchasing Manager

My client is a leading company based in Hong Kong specializing in the sourcing and supply of lighting and creative project materials for the European market.

The team seeking a highly motivated and experienced Purchasing & Sourcing Manager to join its dynamic team in Hong Kong. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in sourcing lighting and creative project materials for the European market. They will also be responsible for overseeing export sourcing and shipping procedures. In addition, the ideal candidate should possess a creative mindset and a deep appreciation for aesthetics.

Responsibilities:

• Sourcing Lighting & Creative Project Materials:

  • Develop and execute sourcing strategies to identify and procure high-quality lighting and creative project materials that meet the specific requirements of the European market.
  • Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and maintain a robust supplier network.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions to ensure competitive advantage and cost-effectiveness.
  • Evaluate supplier capabilities, product quality, and reliability to ensure compliance with company standards.
  • Continuously monitor market trends and industry developments to stay updated with the latest product innovations and sourcing opportunities.

• Export Sourcing & Shipping Procedure:

  • Possess a comprehensive understanding of export sourcing procedures, including customs regulations, documentation requirements, and shipping logistics.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, suppliers, and freight forwarders to ensure smooth and efficient export processes.
  • Manage import/export documentation, including purchase orders, invoices, shipping documents, and customs clearance paperwork.
  • Monitor and track shipment progress to ensure timely delivery and resolve any potential issues or delays.
  • Optimize shipping methods and costs while maintaining product quality and delivery timelines.

• Creative Mindset and Aesthetic Appreciation:

  • Bring a creative mindset and an appreciation for aesthetics to the sourcing and purchasing process.
  • Collaborate with design and creative teams to understand project requirements and translate them into sourcing criteria.
  • Source and recommend innovative and visually appealing products that align with the company's design philosophy and customer expectations.
  • Stay updated with emerging trends and developments in lighting and creative materials to provide recommendations that enhance the company's product offerings.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Proven experience in purchasing and sourcing roles, with a focus on lighting and creative project materials for the European market.
• Strong understanding of export sourcing procedures and shipping logistics.
• Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills to establish and maintain productive partnerships with suppliers.
• Proficiency in analyzing market trends, conducting supplier evaluations, and making data-driven sourcing decisions.
• Creative mindset with a keen eye for aesthetics and design.
• Exceptional organizational and project management abilities to handle multiple sourcing projects simultaneously.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, in English. Knowledge of additional languages is a plus.
• Proficiency in using sourcing tools, procurement software, and Microsoft Office suite.
