Assistant Legal Counsel

Responsibilities:

• Help manage and safeguard the Authority's legal interests, including identifying legal issues and providing legal solutions when supporting the Authority's day-to-day business operations
• Work with the Legal Department's other Legal Counsels in managing potential legal disputes
• Assist in updating and maintaining internal policies, document templates and processes
• Attend to legal research, legal vetting and new legislation updates

Requirements:

• Degree holder in Law or equivalent, either in Hong Kong or from a common wealth jurisdiction (UK, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore)
• Solicitor qualified in Hong Kong or other comparable common law jurisdictions
• A minimum of 6 years total working experience with sizeable law firms in Hong Kong. Prior in-house experience is not required
• Possess solid dispute resolution experience, particularly arbitration and mediation, preferably (but not essential) in projects and construction
• Independent with strong problem-solving, analytical, communications and interpersonal skills
• Eager to learn, hardworking, driven and flexible
• Proficient in written and spoken English and Chinese, including Mandarin
