As a Construction Software Product Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering software products specifically tailored for the construction industry. Your primary focus will be on understanding the unique needs of construction professionals, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring successful product adoption. Here are the updated responsibilities:
Product Localization and Customization:
Collaborate with the technical product director and software development team to adapt construction software solutions for the specific needs of the China Mainland market.
Ensure compliance with local construction regulations, safety standards, and industry practices.
Customize features to meet the unique requirements of Chinese construction companies.
Collaborate with the product team to define and drive the product strategy and roadmap aligned with user needs and business goals.
Act as a thought leader within the organization, influencing product success.
Stakeholder Engagement:
Establish and maintain relationships with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders from client organizations in the China Mainland market.
Conduct regular meetings to gather feedback, understand pain points, and identify improvement opportunities.
Advocate for the product within client organizations, addressing concerns and ensuring alignment with their project management needs.
Market Insights and Strategy:
Stay informed about industry trends, competitive construction software products, and emerging technologies.
Translate market insights into actionable strategies for product enhancements.
Work closely with cross-functional teams (including engineering, design, and marketing) to prioritize features and improvements.
Product Roadmap and Prioritization:
Define and communicate the construction software product roadmap, considering both short-term and long-term goals.
Prioritize features based on customer needs, business impact, and technical feasibility.
Balance customization requests with maintaining a scalable and maintainable software solution.
Job Requirements:
To excel in this role, we are seeking candidates with the following qualifications:
Experience:
Minimum 15+ years of construction project experience, with at least 10+ years specifically related to Mainland China.
Proven track record of successfully managing construction projects and overcoming challenges.
Business Expertise:
In-depth expertise in China’s construction industry, including familiarity with local regulations, practices, and market dynamics.
Understanding of capital planning specific to the China Mainland market.
Skills and Competencies:
Strong analytical skills to assess market trends, competitive products, and emerging technologies.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working closely with cross-functional teams (engineering, design, marketing).
Soft Skills:
Excellent communication skills in both Mandarin and Chinese.
Strong negotiation and persuasion abilities.
Ability to bridge technical and business perspectives.
Education:
Tertiary education from colleges or universities in Construction Engineering, Business, or a related field.
Advanced degrees or certifications are advantageous.
