Job Description - Manager (Central Technical Team

The Job


Research and Analysis:

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest development in innovative technologies, practices, methodologies and tools in the construction industry
  • Research and analyse emerging trends, innovations and best practices related to construction work efficiency, works safety enhancement, project/contract management and construction digitalization
  • Conduct pitching and collaborate with vendors, industry experts, and research institutions to explore and test new technologies and approaches
  • Identify opportunities to leverage innovative and digital solutions that align with the HKHS’s goals and objectives in improving work efficiency, data management, construction safety and overall project management

Strategy Development:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including project management, contract management, construction management, consultants and contractors, to identify areas for improvement and innovation
  • Identify areas for digital transformation and the corresponding phasing strategy to cope with the digitalization roadmap
  • Develop and prepare the relevant implementation documents for inclusion in the HKHS’s standard tender documentation

Implementation and Management:
• Collaborate with project teams to implement innovative solutions and practices.

  • Provide guidance and support to project teams in integrating innovative approaches into the project workflows
  • Monitor, evaluate and recommend for continuous improvement of the effective implementation of innovation solutions
  • Foster a culture of innovation and digitalization within the HKHS by promoting knowledge sharing and collaboration

The Person

  • Recognized university degree in engineering, architectural, quantity surveying or equivalent
  • Membership of an appropriate professional institution (HKIE, HKIA, HKIS or equivalent)
  • 6 Years or above experience with minimum 3 years post qualification experience
  • Experience in design, construction and project/contract management
  • Experience in construction digitalization, promotion and implementation of innovative project solutions will be an advantage; and
  • Good oral and written communications skills
