Manager, Safety

This is a fixed-term contract position of minimum 2 years with possibility for renewal subject to organization need and individual performance.

Responsibilities:

. Manage a team of Construction Safety Engineers, Inspectors, Construction Superintendents to oversee contractors safety across multiple contracts

. Enforce fulfillment of Corporate and Departmental Safety Rules and provide technical advice in overall management of safety and health policies and procedures

. Act as the Safety Advisor and collaborate with Project Managers and Contractors to promote safety and health culture, practices and promotion activities

. Facilities safety communication and ensure all staff and contractor staff receive appropriate and necessary safety training for their works

. Keep monitoring contractors safety performance and achieve annual safety targets

. Manage safety review on design works and conduct/coordinate risk assessments at workplaces/sites

. Conduct safety inspection, safety audit and carry out accident investigation so as to proactively manage hazards and risks, resolve safety related issues and mitigate potential hazards in an effective and efficient manner.

Requirements:

. Degree holder in Engineering, Safety Management or other related disciplines with at least 12 years relevant working experience gained from large multiple-disciplinary construction projects, of which a minimum of 8 years post-Registered Safety Officer (RSO) experience in the field of safety and health in construction industry

. Holder of Registered Safety Officer (RSO) from Labour Department plus completion of formal training on Safety Auditor

. Membership of Institution of Occupational Safety & Heath (MIOSH) or other related safety association is preferred

. Well versed with occupational safety and health legislations and practices

. Excellent command of spoken and written English and Chinese. Knowledge of Putonghua is an advantage

. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and project management software tools

. Holder of a valid HK driving license (Class 1, 2) is preferred
