The English Schools Foundation (ESF) is the largest English-medium international school organisation in Hong Kong. Our 22 schools and comprehensive programme of extra-curricular activities bring out the best in every student through a personalised approach to learning and by inspiring curious minds.

ABOUT THE TEAM
South Island School is a dynamic, innovative and forward-looking school located in a green setting on the south side of Hong Kong Island. It caters for 1,440 students from around 40 different nations. The school prides itself on a strong values-based philosophy, an international outlook, a personalised curriculum and very high academic standards. There is a focus on the development of students’ personal qualities, fostering a skill set which is creative and contemporary and which develops community responsibility under the banner ‘Making a Difference’. The school is inclusive and makes excellent provision for students with a range of individual needs.
The school is authorised by the IBO to offer the MYP (Years 1-3), the IBDP, and the IBCP.
JOB DESCRIPTION
Key Responsibilities
South Island School seeks to appoint a Teacher of Individual Needs and Learning Support, to support students of all profiles, in support of learning diversity and inclusion at South Island School.
The successful applicant will be a qualified and highly skilled teacher, with a background in supporting students with identified individual needs. You will have a very strong ability to build positive relationships with students of all profiles, and you will be skilled in motivating, inspiring and engaging with students in creative and innovative ways, ensuring inclusive and differentiated teaching both within and outside the classroom. Like all staff, you will also be a tutor within our Pastoral Learning Curriculum (PLC), and will be expected to contribute effectively to our Values in Action and Making a Difference extra-curricular programmes.
South Island School supports students of all learning profiles: the Individual Needs faculty also oversees a Learning Support class for up to 24 students with moderate to complex learning needs.
The position is for one year commencing in August 2024 and ending in June 2025.
