Job Description - Technical Officer II

Applications are invited for the vacancy in the Telecommunications Branch of Technical Services Department in Power Systems Business Group. We are looking for a high caliber technical professional to join our Telecommunications Branch of Technical Services Department in Power Systems Business Group and provide support to engineers in performing daily and routine operation and maintenance (O&M) of the Operational Technology (OT) systems.

Major Duties include:

  • Implement Maintenance and Management plan for the Operational Technology (OT) systems including but not limited to condition monitoring systems for high voltage switchgears/transformers/cables, metering systems, industrial automation systems, sensors, CCTV and access control systems, etc.
  • Implement & deploy software / firmware / patches timely to mitigate cyber security risks
  • Handle and resolve exceptions triggered from Operational Technology systems
  • Maintain operation performance to ensure compliance with established service standards
  • Analyze data and initiate projects to improve operation efficiency
  • Develop and produce procedures, guidelines and training materials to support operations
  • Ensure that the staff / contractor workers fully comply with the Company's Health, Safety, Security, Environment and Quality (HSSEQ) requirements and drive for continuous improvement
  • Assist in reviewing and preparing engineering / system documents including system design, work
  • schedule, installation plan, test and commissioning plan, wiring record, as-built drawing, system
  • handover document, operation and maintenance procedure, system migration plan, Safe Systems of Work (SSOW), etc.
  • Perform duties during adverse weather conditions and non-office hours, and any other duties including driving and ad hoc tasks assigned by supervisors as and when required

Requirements

  • Higher Certificate/Higher Diploma holder (QF Level 4) in Telecommunications, Electronics, Computer Engineering or related discipline with 2 years’ relevant work experience OR
  • Ordinary Certificate (QF Level 2)/Ordinary Diploma (QF Level 3) holder with 4 years’ relevant work experience
  • Professional credentials in system administration, OT & security of OT systems. Microsoft certifications,
  • CISSP, CISA, etc. would be an advantage
  • Knowledge and experience in operating (1) OT systems and components e.g. Programmable Logic Controllers, Internet of Things, Industrial Controllers, Sensors, embedded systems network switches and routers; (2) cybersecurity domain including Firewall, Network Admission Control, IP Address Management, Vulnerability Management, etc. ; and/or (3) data analytics / management and SAP would be an advantage
  • Possession of Construction Industry Safety Training Certificate
  • Possession of a valid Driving License class 1, 2 (or 1a, 2a)
  • Authorized Person – Restricted Duties, and Safety is preferrable
  • Supervisor qualification or equivalent would be preferable
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts in English and Cantonese, verbally and in writing
  • Be mindful and has good safety awareness
  • Good team player and be flexible to work on ad-hoc tasks

Candidates with less qualification and/or experience but demonstrate good potential for further development will be considered for a position at lower grade.
