Established in 1993, Hang Seng Investment Management Limited (“HSVM”) is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hang Seng Bank Limited, and is one of the largest Hong Kong homegrown asset management companies. HSVM specializes in Hong Kong and China markets and is committed to offering retail and institutional investors with a comprehensive range of investment products including ETFs, index tracking funds, actively-managed equities and fixed income funds, retirement funds, as well as institutional and corporate portfolios. 
We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our department as  Assistant Manager, Responsible Investment (RI)

Principal responsibilities

  • Coordinate RI related internal governance forums and support sustainability risk management related tasks.
  • Support to maintain and update RI related policies, guidelines and procedures.
  • Support to develop engagement strategy based on our RI and stewardship policies, and coordinate with portfolio managers and collaboratively with other investors to deliver tangible outputs on investee companies.
  • Conduct thematic research on macro, sector and company level non-financial analysis related to ESG and sustainability to support ESG research and engagement purpose.
  • Provide recommendations and response on proxy voting to portfolio managers. 
  • Work with sales and product teams to study and classify ESG/sustainability labelled products and mandates and provide RI-related contents for client meetings, due diligence, RFPs, etc. 
  • Contribute to RI-related contents for various reportings including PRI annual assessment.
  • Participate in ad-hoc duties as assigned by Head of Responsible Investment from time to time.

Requirements

  • University degree in economics, finance, environmental and corporate governance related disciplines.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ working experience in responsible investment and/or ESG advisory to financial institutions.
  • Extensive knowledge about the landscape of ESG/sustainable finance/RI related global and regional policies, legislations, principles and standards for listed companies and investors.
  • Highly skilled in article creation, report writing and preparation of presentations.
  • Experience in quantitative analysis with application of the 3rd party ESG datasets and knowledge in statistics, database management and ideally computing programming.
  • Be strong self-motivated and curiosity, with advanced interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to function with multiple priorities, stakeholders and diverse responsibilities.
  • Adherence to highest standard of investment compliance and risk management measures.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities in English, Cantonese and Mandarin as demonstrated through prior work experience or education.
