Job Description - Brand Image Director

Job Purpose

Consumers should feel the essence of the RL world through the careful and considered selection and curation of artwork, decorative items, and upholstery.

This role is pivotal in the elevation journey of our brands, grounded in the inspirational world of Ralph Lauren and delivered with a commercial and practical eye.

In addition, this individual will support Head of Brand Image to manage the GCSEA Brand Image Team to further enable others to develop our talent effectively and creatively in the field. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Impact sales and creativity of regional Ralph Lauren Retail stores and maintain the Ralph Lauren brand image through the implementation of consistent Brand Communication. Visual Presentation, Merchandising Standards and Training.
  • Leading and managing Brand Image Team to planning and execution of interior changeovers, including but not limited to, monthly floor mapping, product delivery planning, storeline communication and team coordination. 
  • Ensure all visual presentation standards are implemented and maintained by reviewing the store recaps and onsite set up or travel. 
  • Responsible for setting up seasonal and transitional visual flow strategies for entire store using floor plan process.
  • Establish and cultivate strong business relationships with cross functional partnerships to ensure business needs are met in the most brand appropriate manner, and to advocate for Creative/Product Presentation needs/opportunities. 
  • Review current business to identify merchandising opportunities and visual placement.
  • Thorough analysis of sales volume compared to stock levels on a daily, weekly, monthly, and seasonal basis.
  • Build strong relationships with Store Line Partners, Creative Partners, and Merchant Teams.
  • Maintain a positive financial position through timely review of warehouse inventory, resources, window installation expenses, travel expenses, etc.
  • Utilize department resources to maintain ongoing knowledge of instructions, showrooms, advertising, product delivery and purchasing.
  • Liaise with finance on budget needs and constraints.
  • Develop People and be inclusive. Hear every voice and take on board multiple viewpoints to inform decisions.
  • Ensure Brand Image Team to provide seasonal training to all Ralph Lauren sales staff on seasonal and quarterly visual flow, basic merchandising standards and techniques and any changes to corporate merchandising direction.

Requirements

  • 8-10 years visual merchandising/presentation background, with at least 5 years in a luxury retail environment. in apparel/accessories retail environment 
  • Excellent retail analysis skills
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in English, Chinese and Cantonese. Including both in writing and in verbal conversation with peers, supervisors and direct reports. 
  • Strong time management and organizational skill-set which enables managing and engaging the team.
  • Experience multi-channel businesses and creative degree.
  • General computer proficiency to include Microsoft office, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Microsoft Office with Adobe Suite as a bonus.
  • Willingness to travel within stated region and sometime over-night work is required. 
  • Passion and affinity for the Ralph Lauren brand.
