Environmental Compliance Assistant / Environmental Compliance Officer

As the Environmental Compliance Assistant/Officer at midocean you will be part of the compliance team which is responsible for the safeguarding of the environmental accountability and the European compliance of our products. 

Midocean has large ambitions to reduce CO2 emitted by its products and services. A continuous development of programs to reduce CO2 and waste is crucial and will be leading in portfolio initiatives and green purchasing programs-

 

Key Responsibilities:

• Implement the company’s sustainability strategy.
• Map supply chain.
• Collect and review the product certificate (e.g. GRS, RCS, GOTS, OCS, OEKO-TEX, FSC, etc…) from vendors.
• Monitor the certificate status to ensure they are valid.
• Ensure the sustainability and vendor documentation database is up to date.
• Survey vendors on their environmental practices for the reduction of carbon emission.
• Ad hoc project as assigned.

 

Education and Experience

• Higher diploma or above in Environmental sustainability or similar discipline is preferred.
• 1-3 years relevant experience in buying office or third-party audit consultant is preferred.
• Good knowledge in sustainability key initiatives (e.g. GRS, RCS, GOTS, OCS, OEKO-TEX, FSC, etc…).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and PowerPoint).
• Good analytical, organizational and communication skills.
• Good command of spoken and written Cantonese, English and Mandarin.
