Job Description - Graduate Trainee, Corporate Banking Department

About the team

This Graduate Trainee Program is organised by our Corporate Banking Departments (Hong Kong and China Corporates), which consists of different sections including relationship management and credit analysis, etc.

Role requirements

This 18 month rotation program offers a unique opportunity to build your banking knowledge and professional skills as you develop your career at Mizuho Bank. The program delivers in-depth industry training, one-on-one mentorship and rotations across front-to-back office. You will have the opportunity to work for different sections within Corporate Banking Departments.

Essential Functions

Upon completion of the program, you will be posted to a Corporate Banking Department as a Relationship Manager or Credit Analyst based on your career interests and Mizuho’s business needs.

Relationship Manager

  • Develop and manage our business relationship with corporate and institutional clients including HK/PRC large corporates, MNCs, financial
    institutions and public sector clients
  • Identify clients’ needs and closely collaborate with product specialists to provide optimal banking solutions

Credit Analyst

  • Conduct in-depth financial analysis, cash flow modeling and industry research
  • Review and assess clients’ credit risk rating, and closely monitor credit commitments to identify potential credit issues
  • Prepare various kinds of credit applications for credit customers, and handle subsequent enquiries from related credit departments

Competencies

• Understands Mizuho’s mission, vision, values
• Has mind-set to make improvements for higher/productivity/performance
• Continuously acquires necessary knowledge through day-to-day work through training

Work experience, education and skills

• Degree in Business related disciplines or Japanese Studies
• Solid academic track record (GPA 3.2 equivalent or above)
• Excellent English (IELTS score of 7 or above); ability in Mandarin or Japanese is an advantage
• Strong interest in developing a long term career in the financial industry
• Good analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
