The English Schools Foundation (ESF) is the largest English-medium international school organisation in Hong Kong. ABOUT THE TEAM

South Island School is a dynamic, innovative and forward-looking school located in a green setting on the south side of Hong Kong Island. It caters for 1,440 students from around 40 different nations. The school prides itself on a strong values-based philosophy, an international outlook, a personalised curriculum and very high academic standards. There is a focus on the development of students’ personal qualities, fostering a skill set which is creative and contemporary and which develops community responsibility under the banner ‘Making a Difference’. The school is authorised by the IBO to offer the MYP (Years 1-3), the IBDP, and the IBCP.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Responsibilities

• Support students with Chinese learning in school
• Support students to maximize their achievements within the curriculum
• Support teachers with the aim of increasing students access to and attainment within the school curriculum
• Support teachers in preparing and managing teaching resources
• Provide all-round administrative support to the Department
• Perform any other duties as and when assigned by Line Managers

Requirements

• Native or near-native proficiency in Putonghua and fluent English are essential, and being able to speak Cantonese is an advantage
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Proven ability to work effectively within a team environment
• Strong ICT skills, with a particular emphasis on online teaching tools and platforms
• Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is highly desirable
• Candidates who are immediately available will be given preference

This is a term-time employment where staff will take leave without pay during the school summer holidays.
