Job Description - Project Officer, Department of Cultural Studies

Established in 2000, the Department ( offers a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Cultural Studies with a strong interdisciplinary orientation. It admits postgraduate research students leading to the award of MPhil and PhD degrees. Since 2003, it has been offering a self-financed taught programme leading to the Master degree of Cultural Studies. The department’s faculty also contribute to the work of the newly established Centre for Cultural Research and Development (

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute social media strategies and promotional campaigns to enhance the Department's reputation among target stakeholders and raise awareness about our Programmes
  • Support various activities of the RAE Impact Research Case and research projects, including organizing seminars, workshops, conferences, and providing administrative assistance in project applications, hiring, payments, and reports
  • Provide a wide range of administrative support to the management and operation of programmes, including but not limited to assisting in student admission and enrollment, handling student and staff inquiry, organizing student and alumni activities
  • Perform any other duties as assigned


Requirements

  • A recognized degree with relevant working experience
  • A good experience in social media promotion and promotional design would be a preferable
  • A good command of spoken and written English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Putonghua)
  • Proficiency in PC operations and website management, such as MS Office, Photoshop
  • Strong problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills
  • Attentive to details, independent, well organized and a good team player

Salary and Benefits

The commencing salary will be competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits, where applicable, include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, and mandatory provident fund.
