Job Description - Assistant Manager/ Manager, Event Management

We are helping a renowned public institution dedicated to fostering community engagement in our vibrant city. We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Assistant Manager/ Manager of Event Management to join the team and play a key role in planning, coordinating, and executing these exciting events.
 
Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the planning and execution of mega outdoor events, including festivals, concerts, cultural celebrations, and sports tournaments, with the aim of driving community engagement and attracting tourists.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, external vendors, and stakeholders to ensure seamless coordination and execution of all event-related activities.
  • Assist in the development and management of event budgets, ensuring cost-effective planning and adherence to financial guidelines.
  • Coordinate logistics, including venue selection, permits and licenses, equipment rentals, food and beverage arrangements, transportation, and security.
  • Assist in the negotiation and procurement of contracts with vendors and suppliers, ensuring competitive pricing and high-quality services.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with community organizations, sponsors, and partners to enhance event visibility, participation, and sponsorship opportunities.
  • Coordinate marketing and promotional efforts to maximize event attendance and attract visitors, collaborating with the marketing team to develop strategies and materials.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of health and safety protocols, emergency response plans, and risk management strategies for each event.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and permit requirements related to event management, including health and safety regulations.
  • Evaluate the success of each event through post-event analysis, including attendee feedback, financial performance, and overall objectives, and provide recommendations for improvement.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in event management, hospitality, marketing, or a related field. 
  • 5 years of proven experience in event management, preferably with a focus on organizing large-scale outdoor events.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, vendors, sponsors, and community stakeholders.
  • Passion for community engagement, tourism, and creating memorable experiences.
