Job Description - Assistant Student Affairs Manager I

The Office of Student Affairs (OSA) is responsible for the provision of desirable services for students of the University and enhancing their learning experience. The appointee will join a dynamic team dedicated to fostering whole-person development and a vibrant campus life of students.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and cultivate new corporate partnership opportunities while maintaining relationships with current recruiters in overseas, Mainland China, and Hong Kong to provide job opportunities for students
  • Design, develop, and oversee the execution of career and professional development initiatives, including career fairs, career treks, company visits, resume books, placement reports, and regular and ad-hoc job boards
  • Stay updated on students' career aspirations and job search progress, and effectively facilitate suitable career opportunities for students
  • Develop training materials, evaluate training outcomes, and maintain communication with academic departments and relevant stakeholders
  • Review and analyse training methodologies and technologies to identify new and effective approaches for student development
  • Assist the Team Lead in planning and designing comprehensive career training and workshops that cater to the diverse needs of various programs
  • Support the Team Lead in managing and developing the Career Advising Team
  • Conduct and compile student surveys and relevant statistical data
  • Travel to Mainland China or other countries occasionally for assignments and work outside normal office hours, including weekends, as required
  • Undertake other duties assigned by the supervisor(s)

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in managing and delivering career and training services, preferably in the tertiary education sector
  • Preferably hold training qualifications/certifications in career and life-skills areas
  • Excellent proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese (including Putonghua)
  • Proficient in computer literacy and report writing skills
  • Excellent analytical and organisational skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Experience in updating social media and websites
  • Strong sense of responsibility and team spirit
  • Strong problem-solving skills, resourcefulness, self-motivation, and the ability to work independently

Candidates with less/more experience will be considered for appointment at a relevant rank.

Salary and Fringe Benefits
The rank and commencing salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits, where applicable, include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, mandatory provident fund and gratuity.
