Job Description - Counsellor

Counsellor

Student Affairs Office

Responsibilities:

(1) oversee the whole-person development and life planning schemes

(2) provide psychological counselling services to students and students with Special Education Needs (SEN)

(3) keep accurate and confidential records and documentation of counselling sessions/assessments and interventions

(4) collaborate with academic departments and difficult units to organize and deliver psychoeducational presentation and workshops to students to enhance

(5) manage and respond to crisis intervention and prevention

(6) work closely with the managers to develop the mechanism of counselling and wellness related matters

(7) assist managers and hall warden to support the students’ emotions and organize the psychoeducational activities

(8) job rotation opportunities within the Student Affairs Office

(9) perform any other duties as assigned

 

Requirements:

(1) a bachelor degree with minimum 3 years’ experience in a student development and advising setting or equivalent combination in counselling, social work, psychology or relevant discipline

(2) caring, self-motivated, good team player with strong communication skills and well-organized

(3) good command of both spoken and written English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin)

(4) proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Chinese word processing

(5) irregular working hours may be required
