Job Description - Information Technology Officer

OFFICE OF INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

Information Technology Officer (Customer Services/User Support) (Role: User Training) )

Reporting to the Senior Information Technology Manager (Customer Services/User Support)  of Office of Information Technology, the appointee will provide the first line of support to the University community in the use of IT services for the purpose of teaching and learning as well as a business operation. 

Responsibilities:

  • Support user training and change management and adopt functions for new IT service rollout to support the University's IT strategy and goals;
  • Provide assistance to implement IT training programs and promotion of new initiatives with clear and measurable KPIs;
  • Collaborate with IT teams to identify training needs and requirements for academic and administrative staff, as well as students;
  • Help to design training materials, resources and courses to suit the training needs of the University community;
  • Assist to organise training sessions, workshops, events, forum, campaign, etc. to the University community to enhance their technical skills and knowledge;
  • Monitor training schedules, logistics, and resources to support smooth delivery of IT training programs;
  • Conduct promotions and marketing activities to increase the usage or adoption rate on our IT services; 
  • Provide support to IT training team to maintain high training standards and quality; and
  • Perform ad hoc assignments and responsibilities requested by supervisor.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science or related discipline;
  • At least 2 years or above of relevant work experience;
  • Experience in training, change adoption and event management are preferred;
  • Good problem-solving skills with a technology-driven and analytical mindset;
  • Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work under pressure; and
  • Independent, self-motivated, quick learner, good team player, a strong sense of responsibility and able to work under pressure.

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to sit for a written test.

The initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract of two years. Re-appointment thereafter is subject to mutual agreement.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
