Senior Manufacturing Engineering Manager

Johnson Electric is hiring a Senior Manufacturing Engineering Manager for our Components Production Business Unit. The position will play an importance role to:

 

* Oversees the development and implementation of manufacturing processes to maintain proper product functionality as well as cost efficiency

* Ensures the engineering team and other manufacturing departments work together cohesively

* Responsible for the development of equipment to aid in the manufacturing process. Reviews, evaluates and implements engineering changes and specification requirements

* Manage subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets

 

Your responsibilities will be to:

 

* Provides collaborative, supportive yet challenging leadership to the Technical Group personnel

* Manage annual goals / objectives, performs Personal Development Reviews (PDR) on direct reports, fostering individual growth and development

* Work closely with research and development, quality assurance to prevent problems with products and tooling/fixtures

* Stay informed concerning new manufacturing technologies and equipment in order to manufacture and reduce cost through efficiencies

* Runs continuous improvement plans/projects such as yield, set up times, etc.

* Responsible for the attainment of the plant budget as it relates to the technical group expenses

* Analyze and design lean manufacturing cells using effective systems and simulation tools to optimize, use of space, equipment, material and personnel

* Contributes to the development and monitoring of area budget through regular analysis of cost and spending

* Interacts with internal and external customers (ie: BU), by meeting regularly, responding to requests and explaining procedures

* Interprets and executes policies that affect work processes and personnel within the assigned organizational unit

 

Requirements:

 

* Bachelor/Master Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or technical field with 8+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering with at least 3 years in a supervisory position

* Knowledge of fundamental design practices including: problem definition, concept selection, proof of concept, and implementation

* Technical background in Manufacturing and Automation, specifically process engineering

* Strong project management and team building skills, ability to establish priorities and work direction

* Strategic mindset

* Fluent in writing and speaking English and Mandarin.

* Work Location: Jiangmen, Guangdong
