Chief Actuary

The Head of Actuarial Services will oversee the performance management and actuarial functions within the organization, playing a crucial role in shaping health-related pricing, underwriting, and claims practices.

Responsibilities include:

• Providing comprehensive actuarial oversight across all aspects of health-related pricing, underwriting, and claims practices.
• Developing and implementing innovative pricing strategies to establish a sustainable health insurance business.
• Collaborating with the Propositions team to introduce new, marketable, and profitable health insurance solutions.
• Participating in the Product Governance process to ensure compliance and effectiveness.
• Supporting initiatives led by the Connected Care and Technical Excellence teams to contain medical claims costs.
• Designing product features that influence customer behavior to better manage medical costs (e.g., steerage).
• Assisting the LBU Pricing and Actuarial Teams in executing health-related pricing initiatives such as Risk-Based Pricing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, finance, or a related field.
• Extensive experience in actuarial analysis, performance management, and the financial services industry.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret complex data and provide strategic insights.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to develop and implement performance management strategies.
• Proficiency in healthcare management, analytics, and fraud detection.
• Familiarity with healthcare billing and coding practices, reimbursement methodologies, and regulatory requirements.
