Objectives of the Position
Reporting to Head of Regional Marketing, Home Care, I&I and Industrial Formulators (EMU) Asia Pacific, responsible to achieve continuous business growth in Asia Pacific. You will:
- Implement commercial marketing and business development strategies for the EMU portfolio of Metal Surface Treatment (MST) and Methanesulfonic acid (MSA). Identify new market potential and applications in strategic relevant industries
- Devise strategic marketing for MST/MSA in Asia and develop growth strategy with focus industry segment and core competency build-up
Main Job Responsibilities
- Lead marketing and business development activities in the electroplating system using the EMU portfolio of Galvano and MSA
- Collaborate with the sales and technical team to explore new markets and applications for MSA, such as acid catalysis, bioprocessing, metal recovery, and other chemical fields
- Develop a marketing and portfolio strategy for the mid to long term to enhance BASF's competitiveness in relevant industries
- Conduct market intelligence and value chain analysis to identify growth opportunities and provide market and business insights to support the strategic growth plan
- Act as the commercial lead for all solution innovations related to MST/MSA, including preparing business cases and market launch plans
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline; Master’s degree or MBA in an added advantage
- Minimum 8 years of sales and marketing related experience, preferably in chemical industry
- Ability to communicate and build quick rapport with customer decision-makers
- Demonstrate effective listening skills and a deep understanding of customer needs
- Excel in working efficiently and effectively in a multicultural environment
- Fluent in English, proficiency in Mandarin is an added advantage
- Location of the position will depend on the location of the successful candidate
