Advanced Practice Nurse (General) Infection Control, HKCH (For serving HA staff only)

Position: Advanced Practice Nurse (General)–Infection Control, HKCH (For serving HA staff only)

1.

Lead and supervise a nursing team within a clinical unit.

2.

Develop professional nursing standard, care protocol and clinical pathway.

3.

Provide complex patient care in respective clinical specialty / subspecialty.

4.

Act as a resource and referral agent on clinical expertise of infection control.

5.

Manage nurse-led services to provide specialized patient care.

6.

Train and supervise nurse learners in advanced nursing specialty training.

7.

Initiate and participate in evidenced-based practice and nursing research.

8.

Participate in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of the service.

9.

Carry out infection control duties related duties including but not limited to\: 
a.    Hospital infection control surveillance and generate reports. 
b.    Infection control audit work according to infection control guidelines and protocols.
c.    Organise infection control training or workshops for hospital staff.
d.    Monitor hospital infection control practice.
e.    Participate in investigation and control of infection or outbreaks in hospital
f.    Provide education, advice and counselling to patients, caregivers and staff on infection control related issue. 
g.    Provide support service to cluster hospitals or perform on-call duties if necessary. 
h. Assist the Infection Control Officer in all infection control duties.

1.

Demonstrated competency requirements and leadership ability of an APN.

2.

Master degree in nursing or related discipline.

3.

Contribution to professional development including research/evidence-based practice, teaching and training.

4.

Experience in Infection Control

5.

Planning, organizing & evaluation skills, and good interpersonal skill.
