Job Description - Analyst/Associate, Asset Liability Management

Join my client's Asset Liability Management team in the Asia Pacific (APAC) region, where you will play a crucial role in financial analysis and management. Your responsibilities will encompass various aspects of financial performance, Fund Transfer Pricing (FTP), and Asset and Liability Management (ALM).

Responsibilities

  • Conduct monthly analyses of revenue, profitability metrics, expenses, and resource utilization for both country and regional levels, reporting to senior management.
  • Assist regional management in preparing the annual budget and addressing any ad hoc performance requests.
  • Advise on optimizing scarce resources, particularly regarding liquidity costs and asset allocation/rotation strategies.
  • Validate profitability indicators for APAC transactions presented to the Regional Credit Risk Committee (CRC) and Head Office CRC, focusing on factors like RWA consumption and liquidity costs.
  • Review and update APAC-specific FTP policies in collaboration with local stakeholders.
  • Monitor ALM P&L results, especially with respect to liquidity invoicing and costs for each APAC location, explaining any variances from the budget.
  • Oversee and consolidate ALM risks-such as liquidity, interest rates, foreign exchange, and capital-ensuring compliance with local regulations and adherence to ALM principles.
  • Collaborate with FIN/EXM to propose and implement hedges for ALM risks, evaluating the cost/benefit of managing liquidity gaps and capitalization levels, while considering the impact on profitability.
  • Prepare communication materials for the Liquidity Risk Committee and/or ALM Committee (ALCO).
  • Provide FIN/ALM insights related to the NAP process workflow and country CSP.
  • Identify, propose, and implement enhancements to processes and tools to reduce the team's workload and foster a culture of innovation within the finance team.

Requirements

  • Diploma holder or above in Accountancy or related disciplines.
  • At least 5 years of accounting experience (e.g., bookkeeping, accounts payable, bank reconciliations, payroll, budgeting, year-end accounting closure, and invoice management).
  • Proficiency in English with strong communication skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office.
