Application Manager (Bank)

Role Summary

Inspire is seeking a visionary and hands-on Application Manager to oversee end-to-end software delivery and drive digital transformation initiatives. In this pivotal role, you will scale offshore engineering teams, modernize core enterprise architecture, and ensure banking platforms maintain the highest standards of scalability, security, and operational resilience.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead, mentor, and scale high-performing offshore development teams while building a collaborative, accountability-driven engineering culture across distributed locations.
2. Establish robust delivery governance, code quality benchmarks, automated testing protocols, and clear performance KPIs.
3. Define and execute the engineering digital transformation roadmap to accelerate time to market for financial products.
4. Modernize enterprise architecture by introducing cutting-edge frameworks, automation, and tech stack evolutions.
5. Champion best practices across cloud-native architecture (AWS, GCP, Azure), CI/CD pipeline automation, and containerization.
6. Serve as the ultimate technical authority and escalation point for critical production incidents, driving Incident Management and Root Cause Analysis.
7. Lead continuous disaster recovery and high availability planning under strict regulatory frameworks.

Required Qualifications

1. 10+ years in software engineering, including 5+ years in a senior leadership role within Banking, Digital Banking, or FinTech.
2. Proven track record leading large-scale platform revamps, system evolutions, or digital transformation programs.
3. Extensive experience managing, optimizing, and scaling offshore development models.
4. Strong technical foundation in Java/Spring Boot microservices and enterprise backend architectures.
5. Hands-on experience with major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure), Kubernetes, Docker, and automated CI/CD pipelines.
6. Deep understanding of Incident Management, High Availability (HA), and Disaster Recovery (DR) in highly regulated environments.
7. Exceptional C-level communication, vendor negotiation, and cross-cultural leadership skills.
8. Fluency in Cantonese and Mandarin required.
