Job Description - Application Support Analyst - Investment Banking

About the Opportunity Our client, a leading global investment bank, is seeking a high-caliber Application Support Analyst to join their mission-critical technology team. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the heart of the trading environment, ensuring the seamless performance of systems that power front-to-back investment banking operations.
You will play a key role in maintaining system stability, resolving complex production issues, and partnering closely with both business stakeholders and engineering teams in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.
What You'll Be Doing
  • Provide end-to-end production support for business-critical investment banking applications
  • Proactively monitor system performance and respond to incidents with urgency and precision
  • Conduct deep-dive investigations using SQL and system logs to diagnose and resolve issues
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and drive continuous improvement initiatives
  • Support batch processing, job scheduling, and release cycles
  • Collaborate with development teams on fixes, enhancements, and system optimization
  • Engage directly with front-office and operations users to deliver timely solutions
What We're Looking For
  • Proven experience in Application Support within Financial Services or Investment Banking
  • Strong hands-on expertise with:
    • Linux or Unix environments
    • Advanced SQL skills (data analysis, troubleshooting, performance queries)
  • Solid experience managing production incidents in a high-availability environment
  • Prior experience in scripting (Python, Bash, or Shell) to automate and streamline support tasks is a PLUS
