Application Support Engineer

A leading prop trading firm is seeking an Application Support Engineer to join its Front Office Trade Support team in Hong Kong.

This role supports mission-critical, proprietary trading systems across the APAC region in a fast-paced trading environment.

You’ll act as the link between traders, developers, and infrastructure teams, owning production issues end-to-end and helping improve system reliability, monitoring, and operational tooling.

Key Responsibilities

1. Support and monitor front-office trading applications and infrastructure
2. Perform and automate daily system health checks
3. Real-time monitoring and incident response in production
4. Investigate alerts, logs, and telemetry from trading systems
5. Work closely with traders, developers, infra, and external venues
6. Maintain technical and user documentation
7. Identify opportunities for automation and operational improvements

Technology Environment

1. Predominantly Linux, with some Windows
2. In-house, bespoke trading applications
3. Scripting: Python and Bash
4. Market data, OMS, FIX, trading workflows
5. Exposure to multicast networking and messaging systems

What We’re Looking For

1. 3+ years’ experience in application support / production support within financial markets
2. Exposure to trading systems, market data, OMS or FIX
3. Strong troubleshooting mindset and attention to detail
4. Comfortable working under pressure in a trading environment
5. Clear communicator with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
