Application Support Engineer - quant trading firm

Our client is a global quantitative and systematic investment manager, operating in all liquid asset classes across the world. We are hiring Application Support Engineers for our 3rd party applications (3PA) group to help with the fast-expanding applications stack. As a key member of the 3PA Engineering Support team, you will work together with the rest of the global team to deliver professional IT support for QRT users, as well as continuously improving monitoring and process automation to meet and beat Service Level Agreements.

Your future role:

• A role with potential to learn and harness a wide range of state-of-the-art technologies
• Support of the 3rd party applications (Refinitiv, Grafana, ChatGPT, Artifactory, etc), including on-premise, AWS deployments and SaaS
• Onboard new applications and extends/enhance existing ones
• Monitor and report software issues as well as improve environment stability
• Work with internal users and engage external vendor to restore services quickly and fix root causes
• Work with traders, researchers, and developers to build out bespoke platforms and environments
• Innovate efficient processes to optimize time-to-market and productivity
• Implement automated and scalable application systems, processes, and controls

Your present skillset:

• 3+ years experience in support/DevOps
• Sound knowledge in application support and incident management is mandatory, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, autonomous, detail minded, and eager to learn new tech
• Experience AWS provisioning (ECS, EKS) through IaC, e.g. Terraform, Ansible
• Implementation and management knowledge of monitoring tools such as Grafana, Splunk etc.
• Scripting experience in languages like Python, Bash and PowerShell
• Hands-on experience of troubleshooting network issues
• Comfortable working with and administering Linux as well as Windows
• Know-how on monitoring and managing Refinitiv TREP is preferable
• Experience in trading application support is desirable.
• Working experience with DevOps tools, e.g. GitLab, Artifactory, Atlassian, Slack etc. is an advantage
