Asset managemet - Overseas Sales / International Business Development Associate/VP

Location: Hong Kong / Shanghai based

Key Responsibilities

1. Relationship Management: Maintain and deepen relationships with existing international clients, providing regular portfolio updates, market insights, and exceptional client service to ensure retention and upsell opportunities.
2. Product Strategy and Promotion: Articulate the firm's investment philosophy, strategies, and performance across various asset classes (e.g., Long-Only Equities, Fixed Income, Alternatives, Private Equity) to sophisticated global investors.
3. Market Intelligence: Conduct comprehensive research on overseas market trends, regulatory updates, and competitor landscapes to identify new product opportunities and market entry strategies.
4. Cross-Border Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams, including Investment, Product Development, Compliance, and Marketing, to customize investment solutions and prepare high-quality Request for Proposals (RFPs) and pitch materials.

Requirements

1. Experience: Minimum of 3 years of local working experience in Hong Kong or Shanghai within asset management, wealth management, or financial institutions, with a proven track record in overseas institutional sales or business development.
2. Education: Bachelor’s degree or above from a top-tier university (985/211 project universities in China or QS Top 100 global universities), preferably in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
3. Qualifications: CFA charterholder or working towards CFA is highly preferred. Possess relevant SFC licenses (e.g., Type 1, Type 4, or Type 9) as required.
4. Language Skills: Exceptional command of written and spoken English. Proficiency in Mandarin and/or Cantonese is a strong advantage.
5. Market Knowledge: Deep understanding of overseas financial markets, global investor preferences, and the regulatory environment in Hong Kong and international jurisdictions.

Profile 2: Candidates based in Mainland China

1. Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in outbound investment sales, cross-border business development, or international institutional sales within Mainland financial institutions (QDII, QDLP, QFII related preferred).
2. Education: Bachelor’s degree or above from a top-tier university (985/211 project universities in China or QS Top 100 global universities), preferably in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
3. Qualifications: CFA charterholder or working towards CFA is highly preferred.
4. Language Skills: Fluent in English (both written and spoken) for professional business communication with international counterparts.
5. Market Knowledge: Strong familiarity with overseas capital markets, global asset allocation concepts, and cross-border regulatory frameworks.
