Assistant Finance Manager, Finance

Position Description

This is a permanent position based in Hong Kong, in the Group Finance Team at a leading securities and investment banking company. The role will be reporting to Senior Manager – Retail Broking and Wealth Management and will be responsible for various finance tasks managing group legal entity controlling in the retail brokerage business.

Key Areas of Responsibilities

1. Responsible for daily financial accounting & book closing of the group entities in the retail brokerage and wealth management business including involvement with expense analysis, account payable, intercompany revenue and fee expenses etc.
2. Assist in daily and monthly FRR reporting of licensed corporations
3. Prepare client money segregation
4. Assist in preparation of financial statements and year-end tax filing
5. Assist in year-end audit & regulatory assignment
6. Prepare various reconciliation reports between external and internal parties
7. Key contact point for banking transactions
8. Provide assistance in special projects and provide on-going improvements to the finance operation to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency.

Requirements

1. University graduate with at least 2-3 years of finance and accounting experience in the financial services industry
2. Experience on retail broking & margin financing, and knowledge on futures & derivatives is an advantage
3. Proficiency in use of computer. Especially excellent MS-Excel skills is a must, experience in MS-PowerPoint and SAP is an advantage
4. Strong team-player with good interpersonal skills
5. Keen on personal development with long term commitment to the company
6. Good communication skills – both written and oral with ability to communicate to both finance and non-finance teams
7. Big 4 professional firms experience would be an advantage
8. Must be able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
