Reporting to the Assistant Academic Registrar (Academic Quality Advancement), the Assistant Manager plays a key role in leading and coordinating academic quality projects, strengthening evidence‑based decision‑making, and supporting the continuous improvement of teaching and learning through data analytics, systems development, and student engagement initiatives. We are seeking a suitably experienced and motivated individual to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high‑quality daily operations and ensuring the smooth execution of the team’s responsibilities with a proactive and solution‑oriented mindset. We are looking for a self‑driven and committed professional who demonstrates strong execution and project management capability, analytical rigour, stakeholder coordination skills, and developing expertise in technology‑ and AI‑enabled approaches to academic quality advancement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain project management plans, timelines, task breakdowns, and user manuals for the regular evaluation of academic offerings, including student surveys and assessments, ensuring clarity of roles, deliverables, and milestones.
- Ensure the smooth execution of routine and ad hoc survey exercises through structured workflows, sound judgment, and adherence to project timelines and team protocols, while delivering accurate and timely outputs that meet operational and institutional requirements.
- Conduct and oversee quantitative and qualitative analyses of student surveys and related datasets, generating reliable and evidence‑based insights, and prepare high‑quality analytical reports and presentations in both statistical and narrative forms to explain findings, identify trends, benchmark practices, and formulate data‑driven recommendations that support institutional decision‑making and the continuous improvement of teaching and learning quality.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations on academic quality metrics, including student feedback, performance indicators, and benchmarking results, tailored to the needs of senior management, academic units, and other stakeholders.
- Coordinate the planning and implementation of academic quality‑related initiatives and projects, including student advocacy and engagement activities, to promote the effective use of student feedback and foster a culture of continuous improvement and excellence across the University community.
- Liaise and work collaboratively with academic departments, support units, and relevant offices to deliver high‑quality outputs that support academic improvement and innovation, and to promote good practices in academic quality advancement and assurance.
- Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of team operations by supporting effective integration of projects within the broader academic quality remit, identifying opportunities for efficiency gains, and maintaining sound data‑filing and documentation practices in line with auditing and governance standards.
- Perform any other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications and Experience:
- A recognised bachelor's degree with at least five years of relevant post-qualification experience in the tertiary education sector, preferably with a focus on academic quality advancement and assurance, student survey evaluation and assessment. A major in statistics or data science is considered an advantage.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin), with keen attention to detail and the ability to present information accurately, clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret matters critically and translate findings into clear, actionable insights.
- Good organisational and time management skills, capable of managing multiple projects and competing priorities effectively under tight deadlines.
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment and foster positive relationships, with a growth mindset and interpersonal abilities to engage constructively with diverse stakeholders.
- Supervisory experience, proficiency in data analytics and statistical analysis, and familiarity with AI‑powered or technology‑enabled tools for data processing, analytics, or reporting are considered advantageous.
Duration: 2 years (renewable)
Shortlisted candidates will be invited to complete a 1-hour written test and an interview.
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided. A gratuity will be payable upon successful completion of the contract.
