Assistant Operations Manager (Procurement)

Responsibilities:

• Support the Purchasing and Logistics Department for material
• Assign tariff classifications according to the specifications of the freight or merchandise; route and schedule shipment by air, rail, or truck; and prepare billings from tariff and classification manuals.
• Well-versed on handling I/E documents in accordance with I/E practice & customer requirements
• Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
• Oversee, accountable and responsible for the day-to-day operations of the local shipping team.
• Identify shipping issues and implement solutions on time.
• Direct processing of drop shipment orders from Asia Pacific particularly Mainland China, Vietnam and Indonesia, to global destinations. Negotiate shipping rates with sea freight forwarders
• Collaborate closely with cross-departmental teams and external customers in order fulfilment process management, FOB international order and sales order management.
• Review documents to ensure that assigned classifications and tariffs are by the mode of transportation and destination of shipment.

Requirements:

• Degree holder preferably in Logistics/Transportation Management 
• Minimum 5+ years of solid experience in in-house order processing support. Candidates from logistics service providers with container consolidation experience will also be considered.
• Comprehensive shipping techniques/knowledge in ground, sea, and air transport of cargo.
• Good operational skills in shipping documentation, forwarder and supplier’s management.
• Experience in planning offshore shipments with good tactical skills in controlling the work are done by overseas counterparties.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams 
• Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
• Good command of both written and spoken English. 
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, advanced Excel skill.
• Immediately available is preferred
