Job Description - Assistant Vice President, Team Lead, Operations, Payment Services, Consumer Banking Operations

Business Function

Technology and Operations (T&O) enables and empowers the bank with an efficient, nimble and resilient infrastructure through a strategic focus on productivity, quality & control, technology, people capability and innovation. In T&O, we manage the majority of the Bank's operational processes and inspire to delight our business partners through our multiple banking delivery channels.

Responsibility
  • Ensure transaction activities of the section are completed as per established procedures and guidelines, within specified standards of quality, agreed service level, turnaround time and industry cut-off time.
  • Act as a main contact point to effectively communicate with internal departments, customers, service providers on relevant inquiries, matters or complaints
  • Assist the department head to develop action plan to improve productivity and to make recommendations on modification of procedures and application of technology to enhance operational efficiency and minimize operational risk
  • Achieve the pre-defined goals and targets
  • Adhere, provide guidance and ensure subordinates comply with the rules, guidelines and regulatory requirement of the Bank, HKMA, MAS, etc pertaining to the operations
  • Escalate exceptional/outstanding/suspicious transactions to VP Clearing Operations and other relevant parties for necessary action per the T&O Significant Incident Notification Protocol Guideline
  • Promote and encourage open and good communication amongst all levels of staff
Education and Relevant Experience
  • University Graduation
  • At least 10 year's relevant working experience
  • Experience of banking operations and practices
  • Experience of people management

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • People management and leadership skills
  • Creative and innovative
  • Able to build an effective teamwork within the section and co-operate in a harmonious and productive manner with superiors

  • Good in both written and spoken English
  • Knowledge of banking operations
  • Excellent PC knowledge
  • Excellent presentation skills
