Description

As a result of expansion and growth across the region, we at Ogier are currently looking for a
passionate, committed and creative associate for our Banking & Finance team in Hong Kong.
The Banking & Finance team in Hong Kong provides BVI and Cayman legal advice on a wide
variety of finance transactions, such as acquisition finance, real estate finance, margin lending,
fund finance, structured finance, capital markets and syndicated and bilateral secured and
unsecured lending. We often advise on market leading deals. Our broad client base includes
international financial institutions, asset managers, funds and listed and private companies. We

Key Responsibilities

• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating finance documents, resolutions, legal opinions and other documents and developing a familiarity with precedents and market standards.
• Initiating, building and maintaining effective client relationships.
• Providing technically sound legal work and advice to clients.
• Preparing fee estimates and assisting with invoicing.
• Ensuring effective file management.
• Coordinating with other practice areas and offices to provide comprehensive legal
  services to client.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

• Holder of an undergraduate degree of 2:1 (or equivalent) or higher.
• Strong academic credentials from a reputable law school.
• Holder of a common law legal qualification and 2-4 years' post qualification experience,
  in banking & finance.
• Experience in a leading law firm with a recognised finance practice.
• Ability to work effectively in a team and sometimes under pressure and meet tight
  deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a
  multicultural environment.
• Fluent in spoken and written English and Mandarin.
