Job Description - Associate | Business Development & Client Service

Green Court Capital Management (GCCM) is a private, employee-controlled asset manager with offices in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Singapore, managing Greater China Equity mandates totaling approximately US$5 billion in assets under management. The firm employs a fundamentally driven, bottom-up investment process with a strong culture built on integrity, partnership and long-term results. Consistent and rigorous application of our investment philosophy has attracted a high quality global client base, including pension plans, endowments and foundations, sovereign funds and other world-class allocators of capital. This culture, coupled with our flat organizational structure, makes it an ideal place to work for entrepreneurial, self-motivated individuals.

We are seeking a professional to join the firm’s Business Development & Client Service (“BDCS”) Function. The BDCS Function has overall responsibility for the formulation and execution of GCCM’s client strategy, encompassing global capital raising, marketing to institutional investors, product planning & development and investor relations. Select interaction with existing and prospective institutional investors is expected.

Applicants should possess the following qualifications and attributes:

Qualification & Experience

  1. 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in institutional investor relations, business development, capital introduction, investment banking, or equity research/sales, preferably at a premier asset management firm, bulge bracket investment bank, or top-tier investment consultancy
  2. Familiarity with Greater China capital markets, the institutional investor landscape, or China-focused investment strategies is highly advantageous
  3. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English are required
  4. Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, or a related field with an excellent academic background
  5. Active progression or completion of CFA or CAIA designation is preferred

Technical & Professional Skills

  1. Demonstrated knowledge of and genuine intellectual curiosity about capital markets, investment strategies, and macroeconomic trends
  2. Proven experience with investor due diligence processes, including the preparation of DDQs, RFIs, and RFPs
  3. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint with the ability to prepare and construct aesthetic, bespoke investor presentations and other marketing collateral
  4. Familiarity with various capital market and CRM applications, including Bloomberg, Wind, and Dynamo

Work Style & Personal Attributes

  1. Self-motivated, resourceful and accountable, able to multi-task and focus on delivering results in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  2. Meticulous and detail-oriented, with strong organizational skills and a commitment to accuracy in all client-facing work
  3. Collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage effectively with stakeholders at all levels
  4. Exercises sound judgment and maintains the highest standards of professional integrity, discretion, and confidentiality

Given our company’s flat culture, we look for individuals who have the flexibility and aptitude to spend part of their time working in areas outside of their functional expertise. We feel this develops a better understanding of end-to-end processes, as well as enhancing cross-functional teamwork.

The interview process is quite extensive whereby selected candidates are expected to meet with many of the Partners prior to receiving an invitation to join the firm.

NOTE: The preceding job description has been designed to indicate the general nature and level of the work performed by the employee. It is not designed to contain or be interpreted as the comprehensive inventory of all duties, responsibilities and qualifications required of employees assigned to this job.
