Associate - Management Reporting & Project Controls - Finance

Job Summary:
We are actively looking for an Associate under Finance - Project Control team. The incumbent will perform project accounting, ensure project financial governance and project portfolio reporting duties in Project Controls.

Job Responsibilities:

• Manage month-end book closure processes for projects, including the preparation and posting of accounting journals such as staff cost allocation, accruals, depreciation, and cost adjustments.
• Prepare and deliver financial and management reports for projects, including capital expenditure reporting, depreciation analysis, and variance analysis, with clear insights for management review.
• Support project portfolio budgeting and funding allocation by providing timely financial analysis and recommendations to facilitate management decision-making, leveraging the monthly rolling project forecast.
• Monitor financial status and progress of major projects, highlighting key risks, issues, and variances for reporting and governance purposes.
• Provide guidance to project managers throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring compliance with project financial governance requirements, including project initiation and closure processes.
• Support and guide project managers with respect to project accounting, financial governance, and project reporting.
• Support internal and external audit inquiries by preparing relevant documentation and explanations.
• Proactively identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement, automation, and other efficiency enhancements.
• Perform ad hoc financial analysis and reporting as required.

Job requirement:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline; CPA qualification is preferred.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in financial or management reporting is required. Experience in project lifecycle management and financial governance is considered advantageous, particularly within major financial institutions or leading accounting firms.
• Practical experience with financial systems is required, with a preference for familiarity with Oracle E-Business Suite Applications and Hyperion Planning.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent command of written and spoken English; proficiency in written and spoken Chinese is an advantage.
• A proactive team player who is able to work independently under pressure and meet tight deadlines, with flexibility to support peak reporting periods.
• Strong analytical capability, sound accounting knowledge, and effective communication and interpersonal skills.
