AVP/ VP - Financial control

The Company

This role will play a key part in ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting, financial control and accounting standards, and the smooth operation of month-end and year-end close processes. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting expertise, hands-on management experience, and a proactive mindset suited to a global banking environment.

The Role

• Oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger, reconciliations, and financial closing activities
• Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting
• Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with IFRS and local regulatory requirements
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, group policies, and external regulatory guidelines
• Liaise with internal stakeholders, auditors, regulators, and regional/global finance teams
• Review balance sheet accounts and investigate variances or discrepancies
• Support audits, regulatory reporting, and ad-hoc finance projects
• Lead, coach, and develop junior accounting staff, fostering a high-performance culture

Your Profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline
• Professional accounting qualification (CPA, ACCA, CA, or equivalent)
• Minimum 7-10 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably within banking or financial services
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and financial reporting standards
• Experience managing or reviewing accounting work and leading small teams
• High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Proficient in Excel and financial systems; experience with regional reporting is an advantage
• Strong communication skills in English (additional languages are a plus)
