Business Analyst (Data Analytics & Capital Markets); $60-75k

It is a leading financial institution with solid investment business.

Responsibilities

• Lead data‑driven business analysis across trading, sales, risk, and operations functions, transforming complex datasets into actionable insights for senior management and front‑office stakeholders.
• Analyse trading and market data (e.g., equities, fixed income, FX, derivatives) to identify trends, performance drivers, risks, and business opportunities.
• Build dashboards, reporting models, and analytical frameworks using tools such as Excel, SQL, Python, Power BI/Tableau, or similar platforms.
• Drive requirement gathering, process mapping, workflow analysis, and documentation for projects related to trading systems, risk systems, regulatory reporting, and operational efficiency.
• Manage project lifecycle activities including planning, stakeholder coordination, documentation, test planning, UAT execution, and issue tracking.
• Translate business needs into functional specifications; work closely with Technology, Operations, Risk, and Front Office stakeholders to ensure successful delivery.
• Support change initiatives driven by regulatory reforms, technology upgrades, data governance enhancements, and market structure changes.
• Provide mentorship to junior analysts and uplift analytical standards across the team.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related discipline; Master's degree preferred.
• 5-10+ years of experience in business analysis, data analytics, or project/change roles within an investment bank, capital markets environment
• Experience in Big 4 consulting (covering iBank or capital markets transformation projects) is an advantage and considered equivalent industry experience.
• Strong understanding of capital markets, trading workflows, financial products (equities, fixed income, FX, derivatives), and front‑to‑back processes.
• Advanced analytical skills with proficiency in Excel and hands‑on experience in SQL, Python, or data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik).
• Proven experience driving projects covering requirements, documentation, UAT, stakeholder engagement, and delivery planning.
• Ability to interpret complex datasets, build meaningful insights, and present findings to senior business stakeholders.
• Strong communications in both Chinese and English - both necessary
