This is a role with our latest product, ShopBack Pay, a new initiative that helps customer earns Cashback in the offline/online world.
Your Adventure Ahead
- Lead and execute ShopBack’s SMB merchant acquisition strategy, with a strong focus on scaling ShopBack Pay
- Own the end-to-end build of the SMB Business Development function — including hiring, developing, and scaling a high-performing team of Business Development Executives from the ground up
- Operate as a player-coach: carry individual acquisition targets and directly close SMB merchant partnerships, while setting the standard for sales excellence within your team
- Manage, coach, and develop your team, driving performance, accountability, and growth through hands-on mentorship and structured guidance
- Own and close high-impact SMB merchant partnerships, with strong F&B industry connections as a plus
- Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and market dynamics to identify new opportunities and stay ahead
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g. Operations, Account Management, Marketing) to ensure alignment and successful implementation of ShopBack Pay initiatives
- Provide feedback to improve and streamline the sales cycle through optimized operational processes and scalable playbooks
- Provide ongoing support to merchant partners, understanding their needs and optimizing their experience with ShopBack Pay
Essentials to Succeed
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field
- Minimum 4+ years of experience in Business Development or Account Management, preferably in technology, e-commerce, fintech, or platform businesses
- Proven ability as an individual contributor in sales or partnerships, with a track record of closing deals and driving merchant acquisition
- Experience in people management or strong potential to build and lead a team from scratch, with the ability to coach, motivate, and performance-manage others
- Strong presentation and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and persuasively
- Excellent interpersonal skills combined with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- A self-starter with a can’t-is-not-an-option mindset — resilient, adaptable, and not discouraged by setbacks
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment while juggling multiple priorities with accuracy and ownership
- Hungry and driven to be part of building and scaling a successful business in a startup environment
- Passionate about leading an ambitious team and making a meaningful commercial impact across the region
- Determination to excel in one of the fastest-growing tech startups
- Demonstrated use of Generative AI tools (e.g. ChatGPT, Cursor) to improve workflows, enhance productivity, and drive efficiency at scale
