Business Intelligence Analyst

We're looking for an experienced Business Intelligence Analyst with a strong background in data analysis, visualization, and reporting to join our team and help us support the decision making process with exceptional analysis and tools. Reporting to the Data and Economy Lead, you are a proactive individual who works relentlessly to guarantee the highest quality of work.

You have a proven ability to work and communicate with different teams and individuals in a very international environment, understand and predict what the teams are looking for and provide concise analysis and reports to help them improve the quality of their work, give them directions and ultimately grow.

You have a deep understanding of the data analytics domain, from database and table design to cleaning / transforming / modeling data, building and interpreting data reports. As a business intelligence analyst you will leverage your expertise in statistical analysis, data visualization, and domain knowledge to identify patterns and trends, and derive meaningful insights that can drive business strategies, process improvements, and decision-making.

A Day In The Life

As the Business Intelligence Analyst your typical day might look something like this:

You start your morning by reviewing your data dashboards. Review KPIs and make sure everything is working as expected. If something is not right please inform the data lead and the relative PMs.

After the morning check-in, you dive into your main focus of the day: Check tickets for analysis and report requests and check with our data engineer team for the development/management of BI pipelines. Understanding deeply the requirement of a task will be one of your main expectations so it will be encouraged (mostly early in your tenure) to connect with the stakeholders and have a chat/meeting. Their thoughts might be confusing at first but through your experience and knowledge you will help define a plan of action and execute it. In this process you will also be encouraged to connect with your team lead for directions and suggestions on the matter.

Once the task is completed, you will schedule a review with your team lead and release the report / schedule a meeting to describe how your solution works and how it can help them drive innovation.

Innovation will also come from your ideas. Projects you would like to take such as BI automation, predictive models or different ways to look and interpret data are very much encouraged and welcome. 

To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Business Intelligence Analyst or similar role.
• Expert-level proficiency in Tableau, with a strong portfolio demonstrating advanced data visualization and dashboard development skills.
• Strong SQL skills, including the ability to write complex queries, optimize database performance, and manipulate large data sets.
• Proficiency in Python for data analysis and manipulation. Experience with ETL processes using Python is a plus.
• Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, database design, and data modeling.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to effectively present insights and findings to non-technical stakeholders.
• Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong attention to detail and dedication to data accuracy and quality.

Your responsibilities include:

• Develop and maintain interactive and visually appealing dashboards and reports using Tableau to provide insights and drive data-informed decision-making.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into actionable visualizations and reports.
• Perform data analysis and exploration using SQL to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in the data sets.
• Design and implement efficient and scalable data models and database structures to support business intelligence and reporting needs.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to gather data requirements, define metrics, and deliver analytical solutions.
• Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics, providing regular reports and insights to stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and automation in data analysis, reporting, and visualization workflows.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and advancements in business intelligence tools, techniques, and best practices.
