The Role & Landscape

You will join the specialized market systems engineering group responsible for the architecture, development, and operational stability of core derivatives trading systems.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Developing low-latency, high-throughput components for core exchange derivatives trading engines in C++.
2. Architecting resilient, fault-tolerant backend services capable of handling burst traffic with minimal jitter.
3. Working with trading and business analysts to translate complex derivative instrument mechanics into efficient technical implementations.
4. Collaborating with infrastructure, information security, and network teams to ensure end-to-end security, performance tuning, and technical risk control.
5. Supporting live production systems on a rostered schedule, including occasional evening/overnight incident investigation and resolution.
6. Participating in platform testing, performance benchmarking, and system release cycles in accordance with regulatory governance.

What We Are Looking For

1. Strong practical experience building backend systems in C++ 11 or later versions within a Linux environment.
2. Direct working knowledge of derivatives products (futures, options, index contracts) and trading workflows.
3. Demonstrated experience with concurrent programming, multithreading, socket communications, and low-latency system design.
4. Willingness and operational discipline to participate in scheduled on-call rotations, including occasional evening or overnight support shifts.
5. Practical understanding of cybersecurity considerations, tech controls, and operational risk mitigation in production environments.
6. Solid communication skills in English and Chinese (Cantonese or Mandarin) to interface effectively with cross-functional engineering and business teams.
7. Experience developing zero-downtime systems will be a huge advantage
