Is this your next challenge in Category management?

• The Category Director plays a critical role to lead our Grocery department across our supermarket chain. This is a crucial position, responsible for driving growth, profitability, and innovation in our Grocery, Dairy & Frozen offerings.
• You will play a key role in shaping the future of our Grocery business, ensuring we deliver the best possible experience for our customers and exceed market expectations.
• Develop and implement a comprehensive commercial strategy for the designated department, aligned with overall company objectives.
• Conduct thorough market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and threats in the food sector.
• Negotiate and manage contracts, trading terms with suppliers, ensuring competitive pricing and high-quality products.
• Work closely with marketing department to develop and execute marketing and promotional activities to drive sales and customer engagement in the department.
• Oversee the operational efficiency of the department, including in-store processes, store merchandise display, inventory management, logistics, and related operating costs.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and internal teams.
• Set and monitor performance targets using key metrics (e.g., sales, profitability, customer satisfaction, market share, basket size, sales participation rate) and report regularly to senior management.
• Stay informed about industry trends and best practices and implement innovative solutions to optimize the department performance.
  Foster a positive and collaborative work environment within the commercial team.
• Make a real impact on the quality and affordability of food for our customers.

Do you have experience in senior commercial leadership position within retail?

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in retail with a senior commercial leadership role within the retail or food industry, preferably with a focus on ambient and refrigerated food.
• Proven track record of successfully developing and implementing commercial strategies that drive growth and profitability.
• Strong understanding of the food market dynamics, including sourcing, pricing, and consumer trends.
• Excellent negotiation and relationship management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
• Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations governing the food industry.
