Jump Trading Group is committed to world class research. We empower exceptional talents in Mathematics, Physics, and Computer Science to seek scientific boundaries, push through them, and apply cutting edge research to global financial markets. Our culture is unique. Constant innovation requires fearlessness, creativity, intellectual honesty, and a relentless competitive streak. We believe in winning together and unlocking unique individual talent by incenting collaboration and mutual respect. At Jump, research outcomes drive more than superior risk adjusted returns. We design, develop, and deploy technologies that change our world, fund start-ups across industries, and partner with leading global research organizations and universities to solve problems.

We are seeking to hire an experienced post-trade operations professional to help co-manage our APAC Clearing function from our Hong Kong or Shanghai office. You should bring a strong financial operations, management, and business analysis skill set. As Clearing Manager, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of post-trade operations for the firm in the region, ensuring the reliability of the firm’s trading across multiple Asian trading venues and regional/global clearing and prime brokers.

We’ll need you to be highly organized and an effective communicator, with a strong interest in financial markets. You should approach problems analytically and with the curiosity to understand how things work and how they can be improved. You’ll bring strong technical skills, be comfortable in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, and take ownership of outcomes in post-trade operations.

What You'll Do:

  • Co-manage the APAC Clearing / Post-Trade Operations team, including day-to-day oversight, mentoring, and development of team members

  • Own and manage post-trade workflows across regional exchanges and OTC markets, ensuring accurate and timely trade capture, confirmation, allocation, and settlement

  • Partner with internal stakeholders to manage external relationships with Asian trading venues, local clearing members, global/Asian prime brokers, custodians, and other post-trade service providers

  • Work closely with the Global Clearing team to:

    • Establish and align global standards for process and controls

    • Contribute to global back-office technology design and rollout

    • Help define the roadmap needed to improve operations and support trading in APAC

  • Lead or support onboarding of new business in the region (e.g., new products, markets, strategies, brokers, clearing members), including:

    • Requirements gathering and documentation

    • Clearing and settlement design

    • Selection and setup of appropriate regional clearing providers

  • Contribute to the continued development and localization of the firm’s back-office infrastructure for the Asia region, identifying opportunities to further leverage global systems and tools

  • Identify, document, and drive remediation of process deficiencies; implement scalable, controlled workflows and automation where possible

  • Ensure robust control, reconciliation, and break resolution processes across cash, positions, collateral, and fees, with particular attention to regional specifics (e.g., market holidays, local settlement cycles, local regulatory requirements)

  • Maintain regular communication with traders, risk management, technology, finance, compliance, and other internal teams across time zones, as well as with counterparties and service providers in multiple regions

  • Provide regional coverage and escalation support for operational incidents, trade issues, and market events

  • Other duties as assigned or needed

Skills You’ll Need:

  • 10+ years of work experience in a post-trade operations capacity at a buy-side firm, sell-side institution, clearing broker, or similar financial institution

  • Experience managing an operations team or sub-team, ideally with regional scope (APAC)

  • Deep knowledge of post-trade lifecycles for some or all of the following asset classes:

    • Equities and ETFs (including Asian markets such as HK, China Connect, Japan, etc.)

    • Listed derivatives (futures and options)

    • FX and money markets

    • Fixed income (e.g., government bonds, swaps)

  • Strong understanding of APAC market structure and regional clearing/settlement practices; prior exposure to major Asia exchanges, clearers, and prime brokers is highly preferred

  • Demonstrated experience managing external post-trade relationships (technology vendors, clearing/prime brokers, custodians, and other infrastructure providers)

  • Strong project management and business analysis experience within financial operations, including:

    • Designing and improving processes

    • Supporting onboarding of new products/markets/brokers

    • Working closely with Technology to build or enhance back-office infrastructure

  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to exercise good judgment, prioritize effectively, and make proactive decisions in a fast-paced and dynamic environment

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders, and across cultures and regions

  • High level of reliability, accountability, and predictable availability, including flexibility to support key regional and cross-regional trading hours

  • Proficiency with Excel and general data analysis tools; familiarity with Back-Office systems and reconciliation tools is a plus

  • English fluency required; Mandarin proficiency strongly preferred for a Shanghai-based role and considered a strong plus for Hong Kong
