Job Description - Clinical Project Manager

SCHOOL OF CHINESE MEDICINE 

Applications are invited for the following post in the Centre for Chinese Herbal Medicine Drug Development, which is located in the Hong Kong Science Park. 

CENTRE FOR CHINESE HERBAL MEDICINE DRUG DEVELOPMENT 

Clinical Project Manager (23240653) 

The appointee is responsible for maintaining project oversight, delivery, timeline, budget, and other key components on the assigned clinical studies to meet achieving its research mission, strategic initiatives, and contractual requirements in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), policies and practices. 

Responsibilities:

  • Review and develop protocols, consent forms, manuals of procedures, and other clinical study documents;
  • Serve as a direct link between the clinical research team, administration team and outside collaborators in all matters concerning the clinical research projects; 
  • M onitor clinical study timelines and project plans; 
  • Oversee day-to-day clinical operations of the trials in collaboration with the Contract Research Organisation (CRO) operationalising the studies; 
  • Oversee all operational aspects of a protocol with clinical sites including responding to site questions or directing them to the appropriate functional area team members;
  • Ensure that project tasks are correctly assigned to staff and vendors; 
  • Manage team dynamics and provide frequent feedback to team members; 
  • Mentor and provide training and orientation for team members;
  • Ensure that studies adhere to the regulations for drug development and application in both China and the United States, as well as the funding agency oversight requirements; and
  • Undertake any other duties as assigned. 

Requirements: 

  • A bachelor's degree with at least 10 years of solid work experience in life science or public health along with 5 years of experience of participating and managing clinical research projects; 
  • Rich work experience in the Clinical Research Organisation will be an advantage;
  • An excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese; 
  • Excellent organisational and proactive problem-solving skills;
  • Proficient in computer literacy; 
  • Meticulous and self-motivated; 
  • Strong sense of responsibility, strong communication, interpersonal, organisation and execution skills; and 
  • Ability to manage multiple and varied tasks with enthusiasm and prioritise workload with attention to detail. 

The initial appointment will be offered on a fixed-term contract of one to two years. Re-appointment thereafter will be subject to mutual agreement and availability of funding. 

Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
